Being Active

Being Active

James Dewhurst
Being active is the foundation of Strong FC whether it’s 5k steps circuiting the pitch (that’s the photographer/ball girl) or getting 12k steps in playing the game we encourage our members to be active through football.
Being active is easier to commit to within a team as there is the sense of responsibility and shared ambition 🏆. You will push yourself harder in a competitive environment more than anytime spent exercising alone.
DID YOU KNOW 🧐
Physical activity has profound physiological benefits that go far beyond just burning calories or building muscle 💪🏻. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins—natural chemicals that improve mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Regular movement also enhances cardiovascular health by improving blood circulation👩‍⚕️, lowering blood pressure, and strengthening the heart 🫀. Exercise increases oxygen flow to the brain 🧠 , boosting cognitive functions like memory, focus 👀, and decision-making🤯.
At the cellular level 🧬, staying active stimulates the production of mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of your cells, which improves energy levels and endurance. It also helps regulate blood sugar and insulin levels, reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Additionally, weight-bearing exercises promote bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis, while improved joint flexibility and muscle strength lower the chances of injury. Over time 🕰️ , these physiological benefits combine to create a stronger, healthier body that is more resilient to aging and chronic illnesses.
